Free For All (FFA, Free-style).

Open (Teamless) Free For All (OpenFFA).

Capture The Flag (CTF).

Rabbit Chase.

Tab —

Options->Input Settings->Change Key Mapping.

SourceForge.net.

Установка

Ubuntu (LinuxMint)

sudo apt install bzflag

BSD

Linux

MacOS

Solaris

Windows

Oh My Giraffe is an endless runner in which you control a giraffe eating fruit along the way. He is being chased by angry lions.

The game was originally developed for mobile systems rather than desktop PCs. Paid version available for iOS and Android.

There is a free version for Linux, Windows and MacOS. On the game’s website it says “try for free” about this version. I did not find any time or functionality limitations.

Gameplay

You control a giraffe that runs and eats fruits hanging in its path. He is chased by lions, which can be destroyed with the same fruits. To do this, you need to bite the thread on which the fruit is hanging, then it will fall on the giraffe’s back and can bounce back at the enemy.

During the game, day turns into night and the lions fall asleep. If suddenly a fruit hits a sleeping lion, the lion will wake up and run after you.

If the lion catches you, the game ends.

You get points for eating fruits and destroying lions. The goal of the game is to score as many points as possible.

Graphics

The game has simple, pixelated, cartoon graphics, which are typical for simple games for mobile devices.

Manage

Control by mouse. You need to move the mouse in the desired direction and the giraffe’s head will move, repeating the movements of the cursor.

Development

The game is written in the Lua programming language and uses the Open Source LÖVE framework.

Installing Oh My Giraffe on Ubuntu Linux

On Ubuntu Linux I installed the game from a snap package. To do this, run the following commands in the terminal:

sudo apt install snapd sudo snap install ohmygiraffe

Cross-platform game:

Android

iOS

Linux

MacOS

Windows

The Maze of Galious (MoG) is a platform arcade game in which you control a knight and must overcome level after level.

Maze of Galious was originally called Konami and was created for MSX (Machines with Software eXchangeability) computers.

Maze of Galious is a linear platformer. The player needs to move the character across levels, which consist strictly of horizontal surfaces. You can climb stairs, jump, fight, and go down to other locations.

The game features one huge map, called a castle, and 10 sub-maps, called worlds. The game starts in a castle, and as you progress you must find the keys to each of the 10 worlds.

At the end of each world there is a boss battle. To complete the game you need to destroy all bosses. To destroy all the bosses you will need to use two characters - Popolon and Aphrodite. They have their own special abilities. Popolon can jump well, quickly break rocks, and go through revolving doors. Aphrodite can swim perfectly, fire three shots at once and place three bombs at once.

As the player progresses, he encounters hundreds of different enemies. They can be destroyed in different ways.

The distinctive feature of Maze of Galious is its freedom of movement. You can always go back to previous locations and see if you missed anything there.

Development of the game ceased in 2009, but will be of interest to fans of games of this genre. There were no problems with installation and operation on Ubuntu Linux.

Installation on Ubuntu Linux

To install the game on Ubuntu Linux, you can use the standard repositories. To install, run the command:

sudo apt install mazeofgalious

You can start the game from the command line by running:

mog

Installation

Installation on Ubuntu (LinuxMint)

sudo apt install mazeofgalious

Berusky I is a 2D logic game where you have to move blocks and get keys.

Berusky was inspired by the puzzle game Sokoban, in which the player had to move boxes in a maze. Berusky adds new elements and objects to the gameplay - explosives, stones, gates and others.

The game has about 120 levels.

The goal of each level is to collect 5 keys and reach the exit. The player controls five bugs and can freely switch between them.

To complete the level, you need to collect all 5 keys. To do this, the player must interact with the surrounding blocks. There are blocks that need to be moved, and also blocks that need to be blown up. There are rocks that can be broken using a hammer or a weapon.

To advance to the next level, the player must ensure a clear path to the gate. Gates come in different types. There is a gate that can only be opened with a key of the corresponding color. There are gates that close (and never open again) the first time you pass through them.

Level Editor

The game has a built-in level editor, with which you can create your own maps and mazes.

To start the level editor, run in the command line:

berusky -e

Working with the editor is very simple. All actions are performed with the mouse. The user selects map objects and places them on the playing field.

Press the F1 key to get a list of hotkeys that you can use. Some useful keys:
F2 - save level.
Ctrl+F2 - save level as (set file name).
F3 - load level for editing.
F9 - start level.

To run a custom level, use the command:

berusky -u levelname.lv3

Installing the game Berusky

The Berusky game is available in the standard repositories of popular Linux distributions.
Package name: berusky

For example, on Ubuntu Linux the game can be installed by running the command:

sudo apt install berusky

Installation on Ubuntu (LinuxMint)

sudo apt install berusky

Cross-platform game:

Linux

Windows

Lugaru HD is a 3D shooter in the name of the anthropomorphic rabbit Turner, who has close combat skills.

In the game you control a rabbit named Turner, who walks on two legs and is very good at fighting. You must fight other rabbits and wolves.

All battles are based on contact interaction - close combat. Based on the techniques Turner uses, it can be assumed that he is proficient in some kind of martial arts. Sometimes you will need to hit enemies covertly so as not to attract attention.

Turner can use sticks, a knife and a sword as available tools.

The game has many fans. Players like the game's combat mechanics, unusual atmosphere, extremely simple controls, and the presence of a storyline.

Plot Outline

In the story, you go on a journey to find and punish those responsible for the murder of all the inhabitants of your village.

During the course of his journey, Turner uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy involving the corrupt leaders of the rabbit republic and starving wolves from a neighboring colony.

Turner takes it upon himself to fight against the conspiracy and save his fellow rabbits from slavery.

Control keys

Basic controls in the game are extremely simple. The keyboard shortcuts attack, jump and crouch allow you to perform all the fighting techniques that Turner has.

WSAD - move character.

Left Shift - crouch.

Space - jump.

E - draw.

Q - throw.

Left mouse button - attack.

Graphics

The game has very simple 3D graphics. Characters and objects look angular. The textures do not shine with detail. The graphics are stuck far in the past, even despite the notorious HD in the name. But they don’t love it for its graphics.

The game is not demanding on computer resources.

Installation

Installation on Ubuntu (LinuxMint)

sudo apt install lugaru

Cross-platform game:

Linux

MacOS

Windows

Berusky II is a 3D puzzle game where you have to move and interact with blocks to get to the exit.

The game is a continuation of the two-dimensional game Berusky I, which, in turn, was created based on the logic game Sokoban.

The rules of the second version are similar to the first part, but are supplemented with new logical elements. Also added to the game is a simple story accompanied by a series of comics.

At each level, you can have from one to five beetles (ladybugs) at your disposal, which you can switch between and control. Beetles differ in the color of their wings.

The goal of the game is to bring all the bugs to the exit.

Each bug can interact with objects in the level - move blocks, press buttons, ride the elevator, and so on.

The game is not as simple as it might seem at first glance. With each new level the difficulty increases.

There are different types of blocks/objects from which levels are built:

Walls. Such blocks cannot be destroyed. They are stationary.

Slanted blocks that allow beetles to climb to higher floors.

Wooden blocks. They can be moved or dropped from a height.

Exploding blocks.

Stones. They cannot be moved, but if a block underneath the stone is destroyed, the stone will fall. Rocks can be destroyed with a hammer.

Buttons to activate a teleport or elevator. You can press a button either by standing on it or by placing a block on it.

Teleports. Move to another point.

Different types of elevators.

And some others.

Graphics

The game has nice and simple 3D graphics. The map can be rotated and zoomed in.

The developers took a creative approach to creating the game. Each level is not just a set of blocks, but also a certain environment. For example, blocks can stand on a table with scissors on it, a lamp and other things. The player does not interact with these surrounding objects in any way, but they add atmosphere to the game.

I would especially like to note the additional graphic surroundings. These include background images, comics, and various drawings.

Installation

The game is available in the repositories of popular Linux distributions.

To install Berusky 2 on Ubuntu Linux, run the command:

sudo apt install berusky2

Installation on Ubuntu (LinuxMint)

sudo apt install berusky2

Cross-platform game:

Linux

Windows
